Parker Ranch enlisted our service to design a new logo for Paniolo Cattle Company, a joint venture aimed at statewide local beef production. The ranch is one of the largest and oldest ranches in the U.S., and has a rich history as the largest ranch in Hawai‘i. The pasture-to-plate enterprise Paniolo Cattle Company taps into a growing demand for high-quality, affordable, locally raised beef. Their angus cattle are bred and born in Hawai‘i, pasture raised, and grass-fed.
Our aim was to spotlight the qualities of Paniolo Cattle Company’s products by creating a unique logo that strongly communicates a Hawai‘i sense of place, drawing from the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) legacy. The logo must therefore be clean and iconic, but with a rustic paniolo feel.
Design Solution: Paniolo Cattle Company’s new logo is truly symbolic of the paniolo legacy, yet appealing to the modern customer who seeks quality, responsibly raised beef. The silhouette is an image of an angus cattle raised for breeding at Parker Ranch, where Paniolo Cattle Company is based. In the logo, the cattle stands in tall windswept grass, an added dimension that recalls pasture lands where it roams in Hawai‘i. The type below it is a fun, modern rendition of antique lettering. Altogether, the authenticity of each element forms a cohesive, classic logo that Paniolo Cattle Company looks forward to using in their brand for years to come.
