Karyn is a partner and co-creative director of SLD. She provides photography and video concept creation and coordination, location scouting, shoot scheduling and logistics, project planning, art direction, design, print procurement, print quality control and support services for clients. Her design philosophy is to resonate with the audience while giving it her all to ensure every client’s needs are addressed.

Karyn’s experience spans over 28 years of graphic design and advertising, including Clarence Lee Design & Associates, Hawai‘i Business Magazine, Team Vision Marketing, Eric Woo Design and Ostrander Chu. She is a past board member of AIGA Honolulu Chapter and held a three-year term Governor-appointed parent position on the Hawai‘i Early Intervention Coordinating Council. With her passion and technical expertise in print, she creates solutions that are traditional, artistic, and yet systematically-driven for any design problem. She believes in the importance of loving what you do; she finds daily inspiration in the positive attitudes, experiences and determination of the people around her. Aside from design work, her greatest pride is her boys and collaborating with other parents of children with special needs. Karyn received a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
